IBPS RRB is a national-level exam conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to recruit Office Assistants (Clerks) and Officers (Scale I, II, III) in Regional Rural Banks across India.
Office Assistant (Clerk) handles clerical duties like cash handling, customer service, and account operations, while Officer Scale I (PO) manages banking operations, loan disbursements, and branch administration — with higher pay and career growth.
Graduation in any discipline is required (with specialization for Scale II & III), aged 18–28 years for Office Assistant and 18–30 years for Officer Scale I, plus local language proficiency and basic computer knowledge.
Both Office Assistant and Officer Scale I have 2 stages: Prelims (80 Q, 80 Marks, 45 Minutes — Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude) and Mains (200 Q, 200 Marks, 120 Minutes). Officer Scale I also has an Interview round.
Yes, 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer in both Prelims and Mains for all IBPS RRB posts.
Yes — IBPS RRB offers a stable government-aided banking career with attractive salary, faster promotions compared to urban banks, work-life balance, and opportunities to contribute to rural India's financial development.
Yes, after 3 years of service, IBPS RRB Office Assistants are eligible to appear for internal promotion exams to become Officer Scale I (PO), offering a clear upward career path.
